I just heard the original: holy smokes you turned it upside down lmao, stellar work

I gave for granted that the trumpet was taken from the original but it's not, and it doesn't sound like MIDI at all: if you played it yourself, how did you go about recording it?

Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I used Session Horns Pro by Native Instruments for the trumpet at the beginning, and the brass towards the end of the track :)

Got this randomly recommended in my feed and I'm absolutely impressed. This kind of unresting key changes and nervous instrumental are insanely hard to pull off while keeping them "predictable" enough to not cause cognitive overhauls. The alternating 5/4 - 3/4 signatures are so well hidden I did not even notice them changing in the first place. I love this kind of stuff because it's a tell into how good a composer is. It's probably what I'd hear in a Pat Metheny or Brad Mehldau album. Good job :)
